I have a resort rep interview this week and have to sell a theme night for two minutes. Since I've been to Turkey, I thought a Turkish theme night would be quite good. Problem is...we didn't actually GO to the theme night! I've had a look online and couldn't find much info...so I need your help!

Also, anything I can say, such as ''You can join in with the dancing and learn a few moves'' (cheesy stuff like that, and good stuff!) will be a HUGE help. Thank you in advance!

Oh, I was planning to give some suggestions but I see that people like Diamond and Toshlyons shared their experience with us. Thanks to you guys. I am so sorry that you have been raped in Turkiye. It should have been a bad experience and I hope you didn't change your sexual aims accordingly.

And another surprize, BEATING WIVES. Any of you was married with a Turkish guy?

Guys, seems like you really had complicated relationships in Turkiye. (Of course if you ever been in Turkiye)

I went to Turkey about 8 years ago and had the (mis)fortune to go to a Turkish theme night as I wasnt very well and didnt want to leave the hotel. It consisted of....

1) Lots of belly dancing - demonstration and then getting the audience involved

2) Local turkish 'pop' music - they seemd to have a couple of turkish 'pop' songs which had specific dances which everyone knew, so they were teaching everyone them and getting them to do it

3) Kebabs - unsurprisingly. I was veggie at the time and cant recommend highly enough the veggie food - was amazing and looking at everyones kebabs i was lucky!

Finally, the turkish were the most amazingly friendly and helpful people I have ever come across in a holiday resort and made what should have been a really awful night quite enjoyable. Hope you do well in your interview

Well back when I had a life, I'd probably walk around the street down school aimlessly for a few hours and then either crash at a friend's house and jam it up on a karaoke machine or go for a movie or something. But this year? Do everything possible to drain my brain of all logical thought.

I work in a hotel in turkey and all our line is come and join us for a night youll never forget,99% customers say well spent money definatly try again a great laugh!

Basilcally you have traditional turkish music played at the beggining of the night and while customers enjoy a traditional turkish 3 course meal folk dancers dance in there traditional cloths, then all traditional turkish nights have a 3 course turkish meal included and free local drinks all evening...as your meal comes to an end the belly dancer begins she entertains all the men as you can imagine and then she picks out people who join in then she will dance around the tables priivatly expecting you to put a tip into her bra..then the waiters finnish the night of with the kiss kiss song a must see in turkey. All the turkish nights i do last around 4 hours.if you need anymore help email me ill be happy to assist you

I've so been to a better turkish night than most by look of things...

yes there were belly dancers with whom you could participate, female AND male!! Then there were traditional folk dances and a mock traditional wedding ceremony! It was all mainly dancing but the wedding was good and they put henna on your hand. There was a large buffet with fabulous locally produced food, looked and tasted amazing. Free drinks, souveneir photos, a good fun taste of 'real turkey'!

Good luck!

well, with turkish raki, asavory foods and tavern theme (also maybe belly dancers), i guarantee that u will have one of the most enjoyable night entertainment, ever. i know, many businessmen, in Turkey, take businessmen coming from another country to a tavern, in order to make them happy and have an agreement with their company. of course, in general, foreigner businessmen cant forget the night and decide to cooperate with Turkish businessmen :))

about turkish music, these songs put u in a trance and fun condition that u forget all your pains. i suggest u to download a few songs and listen to the songs in a high volume by yourself; in classical turkish tavern music, i can suggest; "Sibel Can - Lale devri" and in a rock kind; "Duman - icerim ben bu aksam" and u can download these songs easily by searching in limewire or similar program since there is no tight copy rights for turkish songs :))

also, when people r drinking raki, if they're far to each other around a big table, they raise their glasses in a toast and if they're close, they clink glasses in a toast and say "let's drink!" or "cheers!"...

but there is a wrong info of some commentators; in such places, generally, u dont eat kebab, there is only some asavory foods in order not to make ur stomach satisfied because the purpose is to drink a lot more raki and having fun with this.

and abusers, please give up being silly cos everybody sees who is the raper...

Mention raki, drink and forget your worries..
Belly dance, hmm more arabic than Turkish, and confused with lapdancing by the sound of it..Not essential if you ask me.
Get one Turkish guy who can demonstrate "zeybek havasi" or "Ankara misket" for the men to dance, and ladies can watch for a change. And everybody can do "Halay "in the end..
We do "Horon" at the weddings, and drink all night..
Just a thought..
