As the economic-status of people gradually improves, they are realising the mismatch of the education system in relation to the professional fields being offered variously not only locally but also internationally.People have now become bolder and want their children to experience new developments occurring in the educational sector, globally. As a result of this many International Schools have been brought to the country by enterprising entrepreneurs to satisfy the urge of these parents so that their progeny get exposed to the international standards of education, locally under their eyes without going abroad. These children when they come out of these schools will be able to compete globally with the best.
Once the advantages of the above-system are felt nationally, the overall Education System cannot remain the same for long.
As far as your 2nd question is concerned,it has been proved beyond an iota of doubt that in spite of the drawbacks of the present system of education which did not encourage research, our Indian minds have still put us way ahead of many advanced countries in space research as the success of the various space programmes have shown. We are now even contemplating sending a manned spaceship in the near future.

No.
Changes are inevitable and nobody can stop the changes.
The present education system is not the same as it was in the 1970's.
Changes are happenning. Whatever changes you make may not be the best. The system has to keep on changing according to the needs of the era people live in. It purely depends on the technological advancements.
Let us hope for the best always.
