gn = grain, there are 7000 grains in a pound

ct = carat, this is used for weighing gems

oz = ounces, there are 16 ounces in a pound

I would be rather surprised if there were not also a setting for grams , usually abbreviated "g".

ct could also mean "count", some scales can count small items for you. You weigh a known quantity and then place a bunch of them on the scale and it will tell you how many there are.

Hi, those abbs are generally as follows.
gn = Grains
ct = Computer Tomography, Count, Cat Scan....sorry, thats a tough one
oz = ounces.

You can look up each abbreviation now, ie- grain, to see what its weight is, and how it refers to other weights, etc... Hope thats helpful, Best, Dave

Hope that helps...
