Yes, I did the same with mine... He lived to 17 years old, with a canine missing.

If you knocked off cat's tooth just by giving it a pill, the tooth must have been damaged before unless it is a kitten, in which case it is likely to be a baby tooth. Adult cats often suffer with tooth neck lesions on their pre-molar and molar teeth. In many cases you'll not see any symptoms of pain but these lesions will gradually get bigger and teeth may brake off. Also, tooth neck lesions lead to gingivitis (gum inflammation) and can get infected. Infection can spread to the bone and enter the blood stream.
So really, your cat should have a dental, the roots of the broken tooth are still inside and need to be removed.

I think your cat will survive just like you or I would if a tooth fell out.
Depending on the severity of the situation (you must be the one to determine this) if it was a tooth ready to fall out anyway, and you just (accidentally) helped it along, Im sure he will be fine.
If you actually caused the breakage somehow (doubtful) and part of the tooth is still protruding, again he will probably survive just fine. IF your cat shows any signs of discomfort, pain, crying out, acting strange..... THEN seek the help of a Veteranarian.
NOTE: in the future, try wrapping your cat in a bath towel with just his head poking out (like a little teepee) and HOLD him so he can use his paws to get away or push your hands away. You will find it most helpful in administiring that next necessary kitty tablet

Since this question has already been answer here's a tip for the furture to avoid wrestling with your cat. Try Revolution instead of flea pills. Small amount of liquid goes on the back of the neck. Protects against some intestinal parasites, heartworms, ticks and fleas. It can be costly but you only put it on once a month.

1. How old is your cat? If she is around 6 months old, these could be baby teeth falling out.
2.Did it break or did it come out with the root?
Perhaps a vet should have a look either way, it doesn't sound too dangerous, but just in order to avoid an infection or something.

First of all what did you do that was rough enough to knock out your cats tooth. Most likely the root to the tooth is still intact. It may need to be pulled before he gets an infection. Let a vet check it out to see if that's the case. Be more gentle dude!

He should be ok but i'd check that the stump of the tooth is still not there he could end up with a bad infection if it is, one of my cats lost a front tooth and if he catches his mouth a certain way he looks like he is doing an Elvis impression but he eats ok and it isn't bothering him

If the cat is a kitten, it was probably a baby tooth that was ready to come out anyway. If it's an adult, it will still be okay but the tooth will not grow back. Just watch for excessive bleeding which shouldn't occur.

i adopted an older cat once and i had to take him to the dentist because his previous owners did not take care of his teeth. the small teeth between his fangs were rotting. the dentist had to remove the root of the tooth so that the gums can heal. your cat should be ok just keep an eye out for tooth decay and that the tooth is not rotting or changing color or anyother type of abnormality.

You could not have knocked out a tooth that wasn't loose enough to come out unless you hit him with something. Since it didn't bleed, I would assume it was coming out and you will see a permeate tooth soon. I am glad you are doing something for fleas.

Is it a kitten? They lose their baby teeth when they get a little bit older. I'm sure your cat will be ok but damn be a little more careful!! Their teeth shouldn't come out unless you really knocked him hard.
