First off I'm a Christian! I consider myself more open-minded than most, in that I can tolerate others beliefs & keep mine to myself.

But anyways, I asked a question earlier about why some athiests are so mean to Christians & degrade our beliefs & most of the responses I got called me a hypocrite saying that Christians pushed our beliefs way worse. That really upsets me. While I think we should try to spread the word of God, if someone says no, we just have to accept it! We shouldn't tell them that they are going to burn in hell because they believe differently. As true as that may or may not be, its not acceptable in today's society. What are we aiming for, a dictatorship of Christianity? I feel sorry for people who don't know God & Jesus, but I don't see that as reason to go all preachy on them if they are firm in their beliefs & don't criticize us.

Christians who do this need to stop looking down on others. It makes us all look bad! Anyone agree ??

I agree.
I asked two questions last night/ yesterday...2-3-07.
I got some pretty mean responses, such is the case.
I do not know that it is my Job to bring people to GOD, as per one of my answers I received.
I do not look down on others for their choices, as I also received, and have know and believe the verse, which basically states,"God chooses who will believe in Him and those who will not believe in Him".
So hmmm.
No, I do not look down on others for their beliefs.
I do Hope and Pray, that God will open their eyes, and their hearts.
But is seems "futile" to keep on trying to reach, non-believers, in this forum.
So I don't know.
Whenever I post a question about GOD, I try to word it so I do not get "beat up", by the "Athiest's.
But that is nearly impossible.
People can be mean and hurtful, as I am sure you allready know.
God Bless you.

I only reject religions that deny Jesus Christ (Holy Bible Jesus) and tell Him that He is not welcome in this place.

And I totally agree with you that to tell someone they are going to burn in hell because they believe differently is totally foolish. We are to preach the Good News that God sent His Only Begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life.

The only ones that will burn in hell are those that forever reject Gods Saving Grace (when it's presented correctly/ in the Holy Spirit) throughout this life time & even on their death bed.

I actually don't look down an anyone. People are where they are in their beliefs based on what they have learned so far. I am not one to judge others. But I can discern (a form of judging) whether someone knows Jesus Christ as ones Lord & Savior by asking a few questions. Some people are just religious without a personal relationship with God. They are not yet born again. Some people have never had the truth presented to them accurately and in the Holy Spirit. A person has to sense Gods love when the truth is presented.

Like a write, I agree that too many Christians have a criticle spirit (a form of self righteousness, not Christ righteousness) Where they need to realize that is all Gods Grace and not ones own ability to be so right.

I'm a Christian and I have sinned beyond belief. I would not tell someone they are going to Hell. That's Gods judgement.

But as a Christian I HAVE to tell people the gospel and saving GRace that's in Jesus Christ. And that this is the ONLY way to heaven and the only way to escape Hell. This is what most people have against Christianity. Our faith is exclusive in that there is no other way to God. "...no one comes to the father except through me"
Fear of Hell was the first reason I accepted Christ, then the love came later.
If one does not want to hear the gospel I don't force it on them. That's not God's way. He's very polite.

Though there are some who would push their religion I have seen very little of this many Christians follow what was taught by Jesus and that is to spread the truth. Many Atheist do not like the truth period and will scream that Christians push their truth when in reality most do not. I think the ones that would preach at someone who does not want to hear would definitely make Christians look bad and as with any group of people if you judge the group by a minority of it's members then you can say bad things about all groups it is generalizing and people do it to all groups religions races..ect.

Yes i agree with you entirely,It is wonderful to spread the gospel(good news)but to many try to enforce their beliefs with the threat of what sinners you are and how you are going to hell if you dont get on your knees but at the same time others ridicule christians for their belief even though some has no idea what a christian believes no one should push beliefs on anyone if they dont agree so be it leave it alone

I,m also a born again Christian.I don,t look down on other faiths.I just see the overwhelming evidence for Christ. Not only do we have The Bible as evidence, but there are also Roman and Egyptian records to His deity. Also if you look out in the public square there is apartheid being waged against Christianity and ChristiansWhat should upset us more is the fact that our First Amendment rights are being sacrificed at the alter of secular humanism

Thank you for considering something from the other side of the argument. I, too will side with the "other side" from time to time when I see a person acting like an a$$. It makes members of your own group look bad when people rub their immaturity off on others. If you are skeptical of the atheist responses to your question in any way, I encourage you to look through some of their questions and answers and try to put yourself in the questioner's shoes. You'll see what we mean. Email me if you're interested in more info.

i'm an athiest and i don't critisize any religion. who am i to judge your beliefs. i just don't think there is a god simply because there is no proof, i'm not gonna try to tell you that there is no god if you believe in it or him or her. don't chastise all athiests for the thoughts of some. if someone tells me "if you don't believe in god you will go to hell" you know what my response is "i don't care", i don't believe in heaven and hell either. a person can't say there is a god or a heaven or hell without experiencing it first hand through death. but how many people do you knew died saw god and came back alive to tell you the story?

I agree. Although I'm agnostic, though leaning towards atheism is anything. There will always be extremists, you just need to be able to accept other people's beliefs and sometimes harsh opinions. Speaking of which the other day I found this mildly funny list entitled '289 Ways To Annoy An Atheist.'

I agree, and I also am a Christian Our beliefs are our own, and we need to keep them to ourselves that's what is important to God, if others wish to believe in something else it's their choice, and not ours to criticize. most Christians have enough garbage in their own back yard to clean up before they start to clean up others, that's how I see it anyway.
