i a just started to but i really don't have the time to steam the vegatbles and puree the stuff. It is so easy to just grab the gerber stuff. I am off on Sundays so i try to make a few meals for the family for the weeka and recently some baby food but i feel like on my one day off i am not seeing my family at all. Making the baby food is such hard work to me. i will continue to make some of her food but i can't make it all. What do you do

All you have to do is get one of those mini blenders that is 1-2 cups and just leave it out. Whenever mealtime comes around, put into the blender whatever you guys eat, assuming its nothing strong, sour, bitter, or spicy. Or when you are cooking, set some aside to put in the blender and blend it up and feed this to your baby. It only takes like 2 seconds.

Here are some easy recipies, just make sure you always have these basic baby food ingredients on hand:

Yogurt
Rice or oatmeal cereal in the box-Gerber works well
Bananas
Peaches
Applesauce
Cheerios--good for snacking and finger food

Bananas, yogurt, and rice cereal make a good breakfast

These foods can be eaten alone or mixed with 1 of the other ingredients in the group:
Peas
Carrots
Green Beans
Prunes
Sweet Potatos
Squash

These foods make a good dinner, which you can mix like 2 of them in the blender to make a healthy meal:
white rice, unsalted, maybe a little butter
unseasoned chicken, boneless, skinless
mashed potato
lean beef, no seasoning
turkey, boiled, boneless, skinless

Try to use 1 meat and 1 starch (either rice or potato)

I gave my daughter the jarred baby food until she was 1 year old then slowly started introducing our food to her that way she eats what we eat and I don't have to make her meals seperately l must add that i rarely use salt in our meals so I don't have to worry about her salt intake. I grew up in a family who had high blood pressure so my parents hardley ever used salt when they cooked.

Baby food from the jar. It is healthy and has no salt or sugar added, and is simple to use. Giving your baby food with salt early in life can cause your child to become hypertensive earlier. You are still a good mom if you feed your little one baby food from a jar.

i do the same as you. its so east to just open the jar. but like you said, on days when i have the time (like today) i'll make the food myself. i agree though, it does take a lot of time.

cute baby by the way!
