Main problem is the death rate. Of people that have caught it 50% die - even with the best modern medicine has to offer. It it mutates so that it transfers between humans, the impact on the world will be devastating. As a comparison, the flu pandemics of the first world war that killed 20 million had a death rate of 3%

Bird flu is not being transmitted person to person in England.
