It depends on their maturity level. Usually around 7 or 8, but if they're good kids, younger. If they're bad kids, then like 9 or 10.

We as parents are aiming to stop around 12 or 13. Hopefully by 11, but that's up to them. I understand why some people still spank their teens, or high school age kids, however I think spanking would be ineffective at those ages. When I was young I would still do anything to avoid a spanking at around 12 or 13, but I would have taken the spanking over grounding any day as a 16 year old. This tells me that grounding was more productive for me as I got older.

Children are never too old to have spankings. However, I hope there comes a point when I can reason with my child instead of spanking him.

If you're doing something bad enough, no one is too old. Spanking gets the point across and no matter how old you are, it still hurts and still teaches a lesson.

8. Now the reason why i say this, is beacuse at eight u need to teach the kid who is boss, and start grouding him from things, such as t.v, his toys, and going out to play w/ his freinds. Start assigning Chours everytime he does sumething wrong.And have them sit in the conor or their room for 2- 5 mins, depending wat they did wrong. And After a month or so of doing this, maybe reward him with going to see a movie or buying him something.

11 or 12 by then taking privileges away is much more effective pick the most important thing to them and yank it depending on severity of offence.
