Well, I've been trying out for my school volleyball team for the past 3 years, and this year I finally made it! It's good that you're practicing a lot, that's a key to getting better. Coaches will look at people who are putting in the extra effort, so try your best, and work extra hard in practices! Here a couple of volleyball tips that might help you out:
- When bumping the ball, don't let it be all in your arms! Bend your knees, get in under the ball, and keep your arms even to one another. Also, don't hit the ball off your hands, hit it off the lower arm.
- When volleying (setting), bend your fingers. Don't keep a straight hand. Let your fingers form a triangle, and gently lift the ball off your fingers.
- When serving, hit the ball hard! You need to have enough power to get the ball over the net.
Also, just be a good sport, work hard, and carry your weight. Don't expect everyone else to hit the ball. Also, don't let yourself get walked all over. Call the ball, hit it, don't always step out of the way for others.
Best Of Luck with your tryouts!

I am really short, but played throughout my high school career. THe most important thing is to have faith in yourself. If you want to be a setter, practice setting. If you want to be a defensive specialist, practice digging balls if you want to spike... practice jumping ALOT.
Have faith, and have fun. The coach will hopefully want the best all over team, not just the tallest team. Give 150% and they'll be missing out if they don't choose you.
Good luck

I played vollyball for 15 years. Practice is great you should have knee pads so have your friends through the ball on the ground while you run and slide to make sure the other team doesn;t get the ball. They really watch to see if you can set it or slam itc over the net with out hitting the net.,

Hi! I have a few tips for you!
1) When you go to bump the ball, keep your arms stiff and straight, locking your hands together, and try to hit the ball in the middle of your arms. Don't let the ball hit too much of one of your arms, but hit the ball evenly so it goes straight ahead.
2) When you set, don't keep your fingers stiff. That doesn't make the ball go very far. Instead, let your fingers be like "shocks", let the ball be absorbed by your fingers and then throw the ball back up into the air. It will go farther, higher, and will be more accurate.

Just do your best and if you try out and dont make it you shouldnt stop trying. You should keep practicing. Remember "Perfect Practice" not just practice. Height doesnt matter, the only thing that matters that is you love the sport and God will take it from there.

ALWAYS keep you eye on the ball when you go to pass. Watch it come righ tto your arms.. keep your arms straigh and locked a the hands... keep your right foot forward facing to the target along with your sholders... when serving... make sure you toss the ball right infront of the arm that will hitting it over.. one foot forward, swing your arm all the way through after contacting the ball. blocking do not watch the ball focus on the should of the opponent.
