If I understand your question properly...you are a natural blonde who is getting darker with age and you want to know if you should get your hair highlighted to keep it looking lighter. Right? If so, highlights are a great way of keeping hair looking blonder. Just be sure to take care not to overdo them. High lights are wonderful but if your hair is longer it's easy to end up with too many after several applications because it's difficult to retouch just the root area. Go to a reputable salon in your area and don't be afraid. If you don't know of a good hairdresser/colorist find someone who has their hair similar to the way you want yours and ask her where she goes. It's all good girl. Good luck.

If you are a blond now get low lights. Have your hairdresser foil in dark instead of blond. Much healthier than darkening the whole head and freaking you out. Then you would want to foil in blond and the condition of your hair will be comprimized.

Usually as you grow older, your hair will start getting darker. You can either highlight or color. Your choice. Color is easier to maintain since it's all over. When highlighting the roots are more difficult to cover.

Yes, get some lowlights (it's like highlights except when you go darker) to see how you are gonna like it. When doing drastic change, do it gradually. Also, Clairol's website offers service where you can upload your pic ans try different haircolors.

Get high lights, makes it easier to adjust how light you want to go. You will have to have the roots touched up periodically...life is about maintenance!
