If you want it to lighten, go ahead and wash it.

You should wait about 24 hours then use a shampoo for color treated hair. Any hair color will lighten up after a week or two...so hang in there. If you continue to color & color so close together you'll ruin your hair.

My stylist says 1-2 days, even though that sounds kinda nasty, you want the color to set in and this helps it stay brighter, longer. Just like when you are getting an updo done, you are not supposed to shampoo for 1 day. Helps the updo work better. Then just use a good shampoo that will hold the color in---I like Pantene, and L'Oreal.

i think it's just one or two days...

but if you want it to lighten a lot, then i would wash it right away. if you leave it too long, then i don't think it'll lighten up very much, but no matter how long you wait, the first wash always lightens it some.

When I get my highlights done every 3-4 months my hair stylist always says wait at least 3 days.

if it was professionally colored then you can wash it as soon as you like, since the stylest most likely washed your hair to get all the dye out.

i heard you should wait a day or two...or if you can't.. buy some shampoo for colored hair..and don't blow dry all the way, just until your hair is slightly damp
