Sorry but I feel if you get caught cheating the team should be banned from racing that race. Jimmie Johnson knew damn right well that the car was illegal.

yep nascarjim is right, they r crybabies and i think the points system should be changed so that its not just 25 pts they lose, its 100 pts regardless. across the board, in addition to not winning a dime, title or event if they are caught. the win can be revoked determined by inspection within minutes of the win. knaus and johnson have shown very well that they cannot be trusted. i wouldnt let knaus b the crew chief of a paper boat race. they know they dont have the ability to win any race if they dont cheat at it. jj just tries to go on his good looks like 24 does...knaus should be barred from getting near a racecar of any kind, cheater.

They get away with it becuase a lot of it is in grey areas of the rules. But I think that Knaus getting a 4-race suspension last year was a joke for the illegal rear window adjustment when Todd Berrier fooled the reading on Harvicks fuel cell in 2005 and got the same suspension.

A lot of people believe that they cheat but I don't believe they do that bad. I believe that all the teams goes to the point closest to cheating not just Knaus and Johnson. Everyone that cheats does get caught and always getting in trouble. Last year at the Daytona 500 Knaus and Johnson got caught cheating and Knaus got suspended. It doesn't seem to me that they get by with cheating.

I don't know & it is not right!!!! I agree with one of the other answers. Until the driver not the owner has to pay the fine for cheating with points & money it will happen again. No one will know about it until they get caught. But how many races have they won in the mean time!!!!!

I wonder the same thing. Cheated during the "super bowl" of races, kept the points and won the championship! I think NASCAR should suspend drivers instead of crew chiefs for cheating and take away driver points instead of owner points. I think they will continue cheating until more drastic measures are taken that actually make a difference. What is money and owner points to million dollar owners!

Obviously you missed something during the season last year. They got caught and they paid the price. Then during the season the #48 car was checked and double checked and they were squeaky clean week in and week out. How do you figure that they cheat when Nascar gave them a clean bill every week after the Daytona 500? We just have to accept that they were better than everyone else in 2006. Hopefully my fav will win it all this year. GO 24!!!!!!!

Why does Bonds get away with Steroids?
There are a lot of grey areas in the Nascar rule book... sometimes people test those areas to see how much they can get away with... Honestly though... if they are cheating they will get caught... Why do you think they are cheating? Because they are successful? Did I miss something? Did they recently get caught cheating? Fill me in so I can give you a better answer..

They bend the rules until they get caught. It should be a major point fine, not a slap on the wrist. I hate it when they smirk after nascar sez 'don't do it again to them'!!!!

because cheating is part of racing since it started, and "france inc." had to let him win a cup so people would stop crying
