When I portion up meat, I put it on a piece of wax-tex (individual pop-up sheets, same as wax paper), wrap up, wrap with a second sheet, put in a ziplock, and squeeze the air out while I'm zipping it. I never get freezer burn this way.

When I fish, after they are cleaned, I find a container that they fit in ,cover them with water, and freeze in a block of ice. Works great for fish, not sure about meat. I have a sealer.

there is no good way to do it without a "seal a meal" or something like that. If you do use bags or something it is only short term and items should be used rather quickly.
