yes. they are quite expensive dogs! Most of the time they will be $500 plus! Also some puppies which are bred from show dogs will be $1000 plus! But in my opinion dogs bred from show dogs and dogs which arent, are not different at all! Except for the price of course! SO if i was you i would try find a good breeder, not breeding from show dogs and go have a look, and what she has to offer! Another good idea is to take a day out to look at a few breeders on the web, or in person (i reccommend in person) and go from there! i hope you find a good puppy at a good price! p.s bichon frise' are lovely dogs! :] hope i helped!

Hi there, on ePupz it appears that a Bichon Frise pup costs between £275 and £800 - probably depending on the quality of the pups, their breeding & the location of the breeder:
http://www.epupz.co.uk/search/puppies_for_sale.asp?breed=Bichon+Frise&area=all&st=1&pn=1&rn=10&sortby=price
If you're looking for one, now that you know the range, then you may like to have a look at the Kennel Club website - it gives lots of good advice on choosing a breeder, puppy, etc & has a Puppy Sales Register:
http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/436
Another good site is Champdogs ... used mainly be breeders who also show their dogs - so the pups are bound to be KC registered:
http://www.champdogs.co.uk/guided/all_bichon-frise.html
Hope this helps

Depends on what you want. If you want a quality dog or a pet.
AKC is just a registry and they don't require the dog owners to present a Pedigree. Any dog that does not carry a Pedigree is a mutt. AKC papers or not.
If you want a dog that is free of faults and bred in a manner that perfects the breed you will want to go to a competant breeder of the Breed. If you want a pet regardless of its quality you can probably get one for about $200, where the quality (show) dogs will run you A LOT more. If you end up getting a pet quality dog and not a show dog you should have it spayed or neutered so that the faults that were bred into them won't be passed on.

Depends on where you live. Bichon's cost upwards of $800 in Canada. Might be cheaper in the US or the UK. I would only buy a pure bred from a registered breeder and not a pet store. I paid $1500 for my Havanese puppy, which is another cute breed.

Contact the breed club - they will be able to tell you the average price of a well bred Bichon from a reputable breeder.

Hi we own the most comprehensive breeders site for all Bichon breeds in UK. We can advise that for n untested dog it would be about £200-£850
However I wouldnt touch them the risk of genetic problems is far too risky.
For a tested dog by accredited breeder recognised by the kennel club £950-£1100
