Both men were scrappers but light in the power department. I see Ambers taking close split decision in this fight as he was the busier of the two fighters and would use his jab more effectively, i.e. as in his victory against Armstrong to win the lightweight title.

Buchanan by split decision. Both evenly matched fighters. I give the nod to Buchanan because if either has a little more power than the other it is Buchanan. Would wear Ambers down.

Lou Ambers

Buchanan was a good boxer but had little power. Ambers was a good boxer with decent power.
