If you just have a plain picture, you will need some sort of scanning device, like a flatbed scanner.

if not you could have the picture developed on a cdrom, and then they are digital already.

I think you said they are already developed, so maybe if you have the "film negatives" you can get them redone on cdrom.

most all places offer this option.

HI, Nice question and I will help you with this.

To scan a picture or a paper (for that matter anything) we need a device called SCANNER. If we have a scanner we can scan.

Instructions to scan using a scanner.( General instructions as each scanner has it own functions)
1. A scanner is needed and its software needs to be installed on the computer.
2. Connect the scanner to the computer with the usb provided.
3. Now, place the picture on the scanner glass with the side to be scanned facing the glass.
4. Now close the lid of the scanner if any
5. Now, start the scanner software. Click on scan Image(it varies from scanner to scanner)
6. The picture is automatically transferred to your computer.
7. You can resize the picture and make it bright, sharp etc and save it to your computer.

Hope this meets your requirements.

An alternative is to send the photo off to a scanning service - either the print or the negative. This way, you don't need to own or know how to use a scanner.

But if you have access to a flatbed scanner, this is pretty easy to do for a small number of pictures.

was wondering if you even have a scanner based on the 2 questions you posted... if you do... read the manual that came with it... if you don't the next time you get them developed say at Walgreens... have them make you a CD with the pics... that way you have them digital and on film
