There are a bunch of thuja seedlings in a box they are about as tall as a finger.I wonder if they could take the weather outside, which has been well above freezing point for a week now.

I don't see why not. Gymnosperms are pretty cold hardy. Plants can respond to rapid cooling as well as cold so try to make the change as gradual as possible.
