If a dog hates going to the groomers and you can't get the dog to stay still how do you get it groomed like getting it shaved? My dog always kicks and barks whenever she goes near the groomers or a buzzer. What do I do?

All depends on how old your dog was when it was first groomed. A puppy at 12 weeks should be slowly introduced to the groomers. Experienced groomers will turn their clippers on, but will not have a blade on them, to get the puppy used to the sound. Also a full groom should not be done in the beginning. A dog must get used to a stranger handling them. Maybe your dog had a bad experience in the past, and will relate to this everytime you bring him back to a groomer. Some groomers have two harnesses, one that goes around the neck area, and the other around the back end of the dog, prevents the dog from moving about while being shaved

I agree with angelhimm about how to get your dog used to the sound of the clippers. Another idea is to find a groomer who will come to your house. Also, depending on your dog's coat, they may be able to use only scissors.
