It doesn't hurt at all. I had it done a few times and still survived.
Good Luck!

I imagine that by the time you read my answer, you will have had your blood drawn.
I've had my blood drawn numerous times to check for cholesterol and tryglycerides. There is a certain amount of pain, but I think it depends upon what part of your body the needle goes into. I always have my blood drawn from my left inner elbow. Usually the nurse will rub alcohol on the area and then stick the needle in. If you're squeamish about looking at your own blood, they will ask you (or you can on your own) turn your head away.
The nurse will take a couple of vials' worth of your blood and then (if they're good) carefully remove the needle and put a cotton ball where the needle was. They'll probably ask you to hold the cotton there until they can put a bandage over it. I think you should probably keep the cotton taped onto you for a few hours.

Usually only the initial prick. They insert a little local anaesthetic before they put in that large needle into your veins. That way, you don't feel a thing after the initial prick. The pain is all in your mind.
But, if you are in a hospital and will be needing some fluids (drip), then they will insert a needle into your vein too. And this time, they dont usually use any local anaesthetics, so it can hurt a little.

i pass out everytime and i dont even have a problem with blood...its very uncomfortable..but i also have skinny arms and veins so they always stab me a million times before they get a vein. i always take one hand and pinch my stomach the whole time..and focus on that pain not the needle. works everytime

Nothing that requires you to bite a bullet for the pain. You will be fine. If you feel faint, as some do from the anxiety, ask to be laid down.

Usually it's less pain than a big mosquito bite.

The most you will feel is a slight prick, but in most cases you won't feel a thing.

It can... especially when they miss the vein. Or when you're anemic...
But usually it's not bad.
