Your MOS training comes next and then you will go to where the Marines feel you are most needed. If that is Iraq then that is where you will go. I went overseas right after tech school. No big deal.

Technically, the USMC can do whatever it wants to do with young marines. However, the orders following boot camp will be to return in 10 days for either MCT or ITB. At that point they will send you out to any follow-up schooling or MOS training you may need. Until that training is completed, you're not really much use to the Corps.
So... directly from boot camp? No.

No, you need to be trained in your MOS before you can get deployed, but after that they can send you anywhere.

Wew would be in Afghanistan till a minimum of 2014. And Obama in basic terms despatched one extra 1400 Marines to A-stan. regardless of you "heard" approximately Marines being "totally" withdrawn from A-stan via the top of the 365 days is BS. That stated, no you're no longer deployable till you're knowledgeable on your interest and arrive at your first unit. Then in case your unit gets orders to installation, you installation alongside with your unit.
