There are many people still who claim global warming is not man made and they are becoming fewer in number. The climate scientists tell us that CO2 from fossil fuels is the cause.
So the question I have is, if you don't believe that global warming is man made, then what is your explanation of what is causing the warming? Do you have any proof of your claims.

It's odd, to say the least !

I do not believe that we are the direct cause of the planets warming cycle. Are humans having an impact upon the earth?
Yes. Does the planet have cooling and warming cycles? Yes.

Why did the ice that once covered North America melt?

You see, we really have only begun tracking and monitoring the earths meteorological patterns on a global scale for the past 300-400 hundred years. This is not even a glitch on the screen of a planet that is an estimated 5 billion years old, and a planet that has sustained some form of life for almost as long. We are at the end of an ice age, and wether or not we clean up the environment, the weather (pun intended) is going to change and become warmer.

Global warming has become a political tool used to get votes and scare people into a political leaning. The Kyoto Accord was nothing more than an attempt of apology for western industrialism and colonialism. Are our SUV's and cities having an impact on the earth? Probably, but I bet meteors the size of Connecticut smashing into it, entire continents drifting apart, and having been nearly completely covered in ice has change the landscape a little more than we have.

Where did ice go that once covered North America? It melted and the natives weren't driving Chevies and burning coal.

Personally, I believe that global warming is a natural phenomenon that is being accelerated by human activity. Historically, global temperatures cycle between warm and cold every few thousand years. However, what separates our current situation from that of past cycles is that it is happening at a much faster rate, and the levels of greenhouse gasses in our atmosphere are higher than they have ever been before. We know this by comparing our current levels with those we find in Antarctic ice cores, which date back 600,000 years. There is certainly a link between human activity and this rise in greenhouse gas levels, because we, through our use of fossil fuels, release unnatural amounts of these gasses into the atmosphere. That is the difference between our climate situation and those of past eras. Even if warming is a natural phenomenon, it does not naturally occur this quickly.

The "natural cycles" theory is what most skeptics use to back up their claims, or they say that "1 degree in the past century is nothing to be alarmed about." What they don't realize is that it shouldn't be that fast. It should be gradual if it was happening naturally.

The other problem is that oil companies, like Exxon, pay some "sceintists" to come up with claims contrary to those of others in their field. just after the UN announced that the new climate report states that human activity is "very likely" causing global warming, Exxon put out an ad saying that they would give $10,000 to anyone who would present data to the contrary. Hmm... bribery?

And lastsly, the problem is the press. The press, as a nonpartisan entity, feels a responsibility to report both sides of every story. So, when they write up an article on global warming, they try to find whatever contrary opinions there are out there, no matter how little sense they make. So since the media is trying to report both sides, they allow people to be skeptical, even though there's barely anything to be skeptical about if you look at the FACTS.

Well, Im not personally convinced either way just yet. I as a scientist believe that other scientists are not laying out the entire history of the earth and looking at all the continent changes, that there have been ice ages, etc.... so, without taking everything into account and being able to study it in depth for at least two years, Im on the fence :) , oh well, I cant figure everything out, but maybe this will help:

There is no global warming. Period.

You can't find a real scientist anywhere in the world who can look you in the eye and, without hesitation, without clarification, without saying, kinda, mighta, sorta, if, and or but...say "yes, global warming is with us."

There is no evidence whatsoever to support such claims. Anyone who tells you that scientific research shows warming trends - be they teachers, news casters, Congressmen, Senators, Vice Presidents or Presidents - is wrong. There is no global warming.

Certainly man-made pollution contributes to this, but determining the degree to which it contributes is problematic due to the fact (read that word again, and again and again) that the climate of the planet is cyclical. This is evidenced by more than one Ice Age.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Scientists (the same ones who promote this is a man-made problem only) openly state that there have been previous ice ages and succeeding periods of warmth.

It would be nice if you looked at ALL of the evidence, not just part of it.

U got it all wrong . U submit the proof and if it fits and stands test it may be so. The Methane is that stupid we will just say it and it will be so. NO methane is a light gas and if the animals produce that much where is it. Methane is very light and should be very high in the atmosphere ,but it is not there. U cant measure it and again it is not there where did it go???? Well it is up there NO it is not there have been many missiles shot through where it should be and methane is very explosive and there was no bug boom.
