The school let student leave the campus for lunch to eat out, leave and come back without a parent. they stated they heard the bell and came back to school that when all of this happen, I say this is wrong and I want answers...I am a parent that stand by her child if he right, but if he wrong I beleive in the punishment. but this time is I right or wrong?

They have funding enough to care if a kid has a cigarette off campus? Wow. At my highschool (which my little sister still attends) if it happened off campus it wasn't their problem...even if you're still in sight. There's not even enough funding to have enough people to handle everything that happens on campus. So your kid smoked a cigarette off campus during his off campus lunch break? Where the school rule broken in that? I'm not condoning smoking because it's a nasty and unhealthy habit but if it's off campus then it doesn't have anything to do with school rules. Additionally if he's attending a public school then they can't force him to go to another school I don't think. Not unless he violates a major rule or is simply a constant rule breaker. I knew kids who tested positive for pot or were quite simply caught in posession and yet were still back at school in a week or so. We don't even live in the inner-city or anything. We live in an upper middle class town in the Bible belt. If it was just one cigarette don't let them strong arm you into sending him to one of those hell holes. "Schools" and "Homes" for troubled teens generally jsut teach kids how to be better at making trouble than actually fixing a darn thing.

Sometimes parents get frustrated and defensive when they feel their child/ren is/are abandoning them as a family. What I'm hearing your dad say is that he'd like you to spend a little more time with him and your mom - he obviously misses the times you used to have. He may be more belligerent because of the alcohol changing his personality which is not good. Gradually over the years you and he have become more distant - less meaningful contact? Why not try having dinner with your family 2x a week and initiate doing something with your parents on another evening or on the weekend, sometimes also include your gf so they can all get to know each other. I don't think blaming yourself or your dad really helps if you're looking for a solution.

He passed the drug test, enough said. Believe your child at any cost and do not make him go into that trouble teens place. He will come out of it with problems and be as they want him to be a troubled teen....
