My mom always said that the crust is healthier for you. Is that true?

Its true. The flour on the inside of the bread has been chemically bleached, taking out majority of the nutrience

HI bread is bread. The only benefit to eating crust is that you are not wasting food and not getting the same value of food beacause the crust acounts for 1/3 of the bread. Brown bread is much healthier than white THAT IS A FACT.

That was just a trick. BUT if the bread tin was greased with butter or oil then the crust would in fact have slightly more calories than the middle. SO because butter contains vitamins you could argue that some crusts will have marginally (barely measurable) more nutritional value than the middle!

There is absolutely no difference in the crust unless the baker basted with butter and flavorings which will then simply add more calories and flavor.
