First of all, what is it you don't want to go through with? To know would help us answer your question.
It's tough to call "it" off and I'm assuming you just want out of the relationship.
Never lie, be honest with him and begin by making a list of things that you do like about him and a list of the traits that you can't bear.
When you have those 2 lists clear in your head, make a date to see him at a location where you can leave easily on your own... where you may not be that secluded and alone (in case he takes the news really badly). Choose a place like a coffee shop where you can speak to him quietly and tell him a few of things you do like about him. He may be gentle, kind and loves animals. It's dopey but tell him a few good things. Then explain nicely why the relationship is not working for you. Listen to anything he's got to say (you've given him 3 months of your time already). Sit quietly, listen and repeat your reasons for not wanting to continue the relationship. Sit listen and repeat your reasons nicely, but firmly... gradually using fewer and fewer words.
The end. And I mean it should be the end- do it right and plan, plan, plan what you want to say. It's nice to be concerned about hurting his feelings -so stick with your plan.
Good luck.

There is no way of not hurting his feelings. The best you can do is just be as kind as possible and tell him you are sorry, but you weren't ready for a relationship or whatever your reason is. Break ups happen all the time. And it is never easy. Just be honest.

Explain to him that it is not your intention to hurt his feelings, but you want to end the relationship. Of course, use your own words, and be honest with him.
No matter how you tell him, he may still be hurt, but he may be a little less so if you are honest and respectful of his feelings.
It's better to end it now than to let it go any further when you know that it is not working.

Tell him the truth, if he cares for you he will honor this. If he's a jerk, then he'll have a bad reaction and you can move on to another guy. If your gut is saying NO, then go with that feeling, it's rarely wrong.

I think you are talking about sex, so if you are not ready for that and he is understanding person just ask him if he would mind giving you a bit more time. If yes, great, if no well then he is not your type at all and doesn't care. Take care Heather

You can't. You will hurt his feelings. It's a part of life. People get their feelings hurt, you can't have everything your way, etc. After you dump him, consider spelling lessons and concentrate on getting a good education.
