1) toxic to marine life
2) oils with higher density (but lower than sea water) tends to stay for long and suffocates the marine life.
3) in the case where the oils are ignited, a fire will occur, polluting the air with CO2 and CO(carbon monoxide)

The oil co. don't like the oil spills any more than u. They could quit and let u walk. Stop asking for things that make u feel good about a bad situation.
