I am a amatuer photographer, with little experience, but a very inspiring instructor. I was hoping to buy a digital camera for myself sometime soon, but I only have the funds for a camera that is under $150 USD. I would mainly be using the camera for portraits (of people) and landscape shots. So I was wondering if anyone had any advice on a camera for me.

I am totally sold on the Canon Powershot Camera's.

Here is a suggestion ... tho list price is $299, at some of the online stores you can get a Canon Powershot A630 for just over $200. If there is any way at all you can do so, get one. It is 8mp, and excellent. Otherwise, go to the Canon website and look at other powershot camera's.

Another idea is, google "digital camera reviews" and you will get some excellent websites that review various cameras, and make your choice from there.

Enjoy!!!

It depends on the size of the image you are printing. If you are doing large prints, you need as many mega-pixels as you can get for your $150.00.

Best bet is to buy the most mega-pixel camera you can buy for your $150.

Buy a Nikon or Canon in your price range.
You can't go wrong with either one of them,
