or damaged or do you think that is a serious infection like aids, I have a frail ill person to look after and I'm afraid they will pick up this cold again as they have just recovered from another cold. Should this person who takes the drugs leave the house as I'm running around with dettol to avoid germs. Sorry there are many questions but I need help answearing them thank you.

Lowered immune system is a common problem with drug abusers. Especially those who are amphetamine users. . . .not only do they use but they do not get enough to eat or get enough sleep. They need to either abide by the rules of your house or get out. Tell them that your cup of nice has been depleted for them.

Most of the time, when someone is continually getting sick, it is due to a low immune system. However, that isn't always indicative of a serious disease. Some folks just have a issues with fighting off illnesses. As a matter of fact, depending on the type of drugs that this person is taking, the drugs may be responsible for the low immune system. Your best bet is to sit this person down and say, "Hey,...just worried cause you seem to be sick more often than you are well. Why don't you go get yourself checked out for low immunity." Honesty is always the best policy. If you didn't mind, maybe suggest going with this person. It may be bad...or it may be as simple as them taking some daily vitamins. Never know!? Good luck.

yes their immune system could be compromised but its also possible that they are getting colds etc because they are not looking after their general health. Their food is likely to be low in vitamins etc. The diet deficient. They may not be keeping themselves warm they may allow themselves to be living in low grade accommodation or spending alot of time out of doors becoming very chilled and all of these things will lower the bodies resistance, it is also possible they are also meeting new social groups when this happens then often during the acclimatisation period (up to a year) people catch all the colds going until they build up immunity to the new germs they are encountering. Finally they may be under stress and this also lowers the immune system. and of course they could have an infection which is allowing this to happen. Do not assume aids. there are many other alternatives. BUT unless you really need to stay with this person i would think very carefully about your relationship. drugs, damage, hurt and kill however you look at them.

they will get colds as the immune system will be damaged by the3 drug use
you dont need a drug user around a frail person get rid of them
by the way dettol will not kill aids

this is very confusing..it sounds like you are on drugs and taking care of a frail ill person and you think you should leave their house before you give them the cold that you keep getting??Or perhaps you are talking about a third person involved (the older peson's relative)??
Yes a person who gets colds probably has an immune system that is low...not necessarily aids..maybe run down, older person, not enough vitamins, not enough sleep, another disease wearing them down (MS,heart,lung disease,cancer, etc.,etc.)...or leukemia ..or anemia..or anything.
