If they did, they would say "Pardonnez mon anglais!", not "Pardon my English!", but they say neither when they are swearing.They don't apologise for using expletives!

(Of course, if they were apologising for speaking English inadequately, then they might say either.)

No, they don't. For one thing, the French are not as scandalized by "dirty" words as English-speaking people are. (You can hear the equivalents of much stronger language on public TV in France.)

BTW, although the French haven't "returned the compliment" in this particular instance, they have in some other cases. For instance, what the English call a "French letter" (a condom), the French call "un billet anglais", essentially the same thing. So you see, your question is not as absurd as someone else has implied.

Americans say, "Pardon my French" when the are about to swear.

No...as a French speaker...I have never heard anyone use that expression. English people tend not to come up in French conversation!

No they don't. They don't apologize when they have something to say. But you'd be interested to know that "French custard" in English is called "English custard" in French.

In Canada, a condom, is called exactly that, in French or in English.
