I don't believe there is any practical thing that can be done. A single volcanic eruption releases more green house gases than have been produced by mankind since the begining of time.

On top of that there is the inconvenient fact that ice ages have come and gone, and the earth's climate has always been either getting cooler or warmer. We had nothing to do with those changes and it is very likely there is nothing we can do about it this time. It was warmer 1000 years ago when Viking farmed in greenland, and it was warmer in the 1930's when there were 200,000 people starving to death in Arkansas and Oklahoma. I don't think anything was done to reduce the global warming either of those times. And there is really no evidence that the latest trend which has yet to reach either of those extremes has anything to do with human activity.

Don't drive unless necessary (plan your trips so that you only make necessary drives and are not wasting fuel, etc.), use less lights (the new fluorescent bulbs use far less electricity and last a long time), recycle anything and everything that you can.
It will continue to get warmer due to what is already present in the atmosphere, even if we stop polluting, but why make it worse?
The governments need to stop supporting businesses that don't want to clean up their act. This is a PLANETARY ENDEAVOR. And if we don't help, we die. And so, obviously, does our Earth.

for everyday people.... act like you give a s**t.
-ditch the SUV's and lightweight cars with v8's. if we buy vehicles that were fuel efficient, auto makers would make more that way.
-use energy efficient lights, don't leave the lights on, insulate your house, air dry your hair... etc.

for business, look at ways to make environmentalism profitable. there are energy plants using algae to reduce emissions, and the dried algae can then be burned itself to get even more energy. a skyscraper with solar panels built into it would reduce operating costs for the building. the options are mostly there, people just need to recognize that the long term impact can be a plus, versus the short term cost that is often focused on.

Global Warming? Stop talking about it because it is not true!!! Stop driving freakin' cars and riding bikes or walking so you can get into shape. Fat is from laziness.
