If you want an obediant dog from the start, take him to school as soon as you get it. This would be the best thing for everyone all the way around.

It relies upon on the education software. If the training are taught with some leeway for youthful hi-jinks, then a domestic dog 6 to 365 days will make the main of having some hassle-free education. If the training are extra inflexible with little allowance for misbehavior, then wait till the canines is previous domestic dog foolishness before attending.

It is determined by the learning program. If the lessons are taught with some leeway for youthful hi-jinks, then a puppy 6 to one year will benefit from getting some normal coaching. If the lessons are extra rigid with little allowance for misbehavior, then wait until the dog is earlier puppy foolishness before attending.

Call the class you are thinking about and ask them what the requirements are. I've seen puppies in classes at 8-10 weeks old.

When they're ages 9 weeks to 10 months, but it depends. Maybe if it's like a poodle start very early! Dogs don't learn as much when they're older.

Training should start at home on day 2. Let the pup get accustomed to his new home and surroundings the first day, and you dont want to overwhelm him. Short frequent sessions are best. Once he/she has had all the appropriate shots, puppy kindergarten classes may be avail in your area. Once it is safe to introduce you pup to other people and dogs, (up to date on shots), SOCIALIZE, SOCIALIZE, SOCIALIZE!! Makes for a happier, happier dog, and hence owner! Good Luck!

Most places want proof of the shots first before you can join a class. Around 6 months should be a good time to start.

6 months but only after all the vaccines have been given. A reputable obedience class will not allow a pet to enroll without the proof of all vaccines (including bordetella).

Most obedience classes let dogs in once they are fully vaccinated, but call ahead and get scheduled ahead of time.
