Absolutely none. In fact, there was an experiment done on a person on his deathbed under a scale. The bed and the person were zeroed out and when he passed, there was no weight loss except for the air in his lungs and the beat of his heart stopping. (When your heart beats, there is a change in pressure throughout the body, and gives the appearance of minute weight loss/ change, which was also incorporated into the weight measurements of the experiment)
That gave the scientists proof that the soul is only a thought or belief, which doesn't weigh any more than your brain. Thought has no weight.

Either Nothing..... or Everything - whichever way you like it.
Weight is a property of the tangible, dualistic, material world. ( In the realm of the soul, the entire universe appears just like an interplay of extremely subtle ideas or rather idea-atoms or rather idea-vibrations or rather potential idea-vibrations..... how can you describe it ?) The notions of gravity, push-pull, action-reaction etc do not appear in the same way to the soul as they would to the sense-organs.
For example, a One-KG object on earth weighs just 170 gm on the Moon, and the same object maybe weighs a few kilo-tonnes on the sun.... and much more near a black-hole. Weight is relative. But since the soul is omnipresent, how can its weight be calculated? Against what background? Against what reference?..... Hence sometimes it makes sense to say that the soul has no weight at all....that it is Weightless !
BUT, again.... the body is nothing but a materialization of the Soul. When the rate of vibration reaches a certain level soul becomes manifested as bodies. Hence if we say that Soul has the weight of the body "hidden" within it, then we are not far from the Truth. The whole potential of the body is within the soul. Since the potential of a body is infinite, the "weight" of the soul is also Infinite.
To keep things simple :- The Question does not make much sense at all !!! (But a good question....... since the quest for self-realization starts only with such seemingly bizzare questions!)

For those who believe in souls, the soul is not a material article. For those who dont, there is no such thing as a soul. Either way, the soul does not have a weight.
Now some fun. Seems, there was a documented case of a doctor who tried to find the weight of a soul. Straight from the pages of snopes.com
Dr. Duncan MacDougall of Haverhill, Massachusetts postulated the soul was material and therefore had mass, ergo a measurable drop in the weight of the deceased would be noted at the moment this essence parted ways with the physical remains.
Out of six tests, two had to be discarded, one showed an immediate drop in weight (and nothing more), two showed an immediate drop in weight which increased with the passage of time, and one showed an immediate drop in weight which reversed itself but later recurred. And even these results cannot be accepted at face value as the potential for experimental error was extremely high, especially since MacDougall and his colleagues often had difficulty in determining the precise moment of death, one of the key factors in their experiments.
This did not deter the wise doctor who went on to claim that he would try to take pictures of the soul

Hi
Weight of a soul! What a good question. Soul is the fraction of light and is a part of "VISHVATMA" means God. Soul unless unified with bigger soul of Vishvatma has no weight,no volume ,no size,no power except a shining light .
Although soul connected to vishvatma has infinite power, can be weightless still at the same time the entire weight of universe is just a fraction of that soul's weight.
This type of soul is infinite in size and volume and has greater speed than light (million times ).
Both type of these souls never die,can not be touched, gravity has no effect and even both can not be trapped by black holes. They can not become wet. Fire can't burn them. No one can harm them because they are AJAR,AMAR.
An individual soul is experiencing the fruits of its karma and Whole soul is looking for its salvation at the end of nil karma balance. This salvation might take million years or it might be in seconds. All depends on Whole soul.
Thanking you
regards

Not at all absolutely there is no weight for the soul. This has already been proved in several Experiments. The soul is in a Small LIGHT Form. During Meditation we are Experiencing lightness in "Suksma Sarira" Stage. After this stage we are experiencing small light Form without any weight and I am moving in very Light & lite Form.
Hence on concluding with experments and self experience the soul has absolutly no weight.

First you would need to assume humans have souls. Next you'd have to know when the soul actually enters the body. Is it the point of conception, after the first tri-mester, the second, after birth. Considering all the soul searching people do we can conclude that the soul must be pretty ellusive..Ellusiveness doesn't necessarily mean small, or less dense. Souls are said to be deep. Deep is dense. Not all humans are deep and some are dense, which is probably why there is so much soul searching. When you add all these plus the reality of consciousness in order to be a deep person. I would conclude it is rather small and relatively inconsiquential to our plane of existence.

I have heard of an experiment about weighing of Soul.
Though some have said it is about 1.6 or 1.8 gms., I personally believe that a clear distinction has to be made between SPIRIT AND SOUL. Many, get confused and interpret SOUL and SPIRIT as one.
SOUL is eternal - it never dies.
SPIRIT is the breath of life that departs when one dies.
Since the sum total of energy is constant at any given time, I opine that no one can measure the weight of one's soul.

came up with 1.8 grams in a series of experiments.
I condensed and froze the souls in question and have done various experiments on them, involving heating and electrocution.
I have sold a few of them to other labs that can subject them to massive magnetic fields.

According to me the weight of the soul is not constant..when u do a good deed or when r u happy, it is alomost weightless like a feather..when u r filled with negative thoughts and u r aware of the mistake u r doing or when u know for sure that u have hurt some one deep or in general, when u r in sorrow or ur deeds result in negativity, it becomes very heavy..that u can feel it 's mass..only when u realise that u stop doing that bad deed, it decreases..
so one should always try making his soul weightless with positive attitude towards life..

The soul is shapeless thereby no question of weighing. In Hindu methology Rukmini weighed Sri Krishna with a leaf of Tulasi in tulabaram. When Arjun shoots a arrow, it become in-multi-arrows and hit the destination. It is again the spiritual power i.e.in modern days a missile carrying nuclear war-heads. Hence the weight of the soul depends upon the spiritual hight a soul can soar in the ocean of spirituality.
