I didn't know that girls are not safe in India.
Just adding to your knowledge, the percentage of girls being employed has accelerated enormously since last 20 years. Apart from few technical jobs that utilise physical efforts, girls have ventured into practically every field. Was this possible if girls weren't safe?
Or what you mean to say is that girls are not as safe as guys are in our country? Well then I must tell you that's a practical fact in every corner of the world. And the plain reason is that guys are physically more capable to handle themselves. When it comes to wandering out at late nights, both are unsafe. Girls get raped and guys get looted and killed for the booty. When it comes to safety at the daytime, girls get molested and guys get pick pocketted. Any criminal would loot you of your assets. Girls assets are their curves while a guy has nothing else but money and life to lose.

No offence but if you see most girls who are raped They in day time they wear so short clothes that even any simple person would look at her like a despo & some vulgar people go to level even to rape them & womens are safe in our country except some places & after all every place in world is not similar.Also other reason is whats point girls going outside at late nights when they knw they are manu F**** drunkyards & despos & for some very serious reason if they have to go outside they should take someone with them or make sure they are not goin to any lonely places where there are chances for something bad to happen.

Girls r safe in India,if they r not then they r not safe anywhere in the world, coz rapes, molestations etc r commited all over the world.That is something that is not specific to India.
Independent if u mean they r not allowed to have pre marital sex, extra marital affairs and work in porno etc they u r correct they r not so independent.bye the way r u Indian or not.

if you live a life of a common girl you are absolutely safe in India...
if you think that you would be safe while roaming around with boy friends in late nights, frequenting in discotheques, bars and going on long pleasure drives with boys then you would not be that safe in India and in any other parts of the world...
do not single out India...

Taniya...sorry to say that, but ..dont compare indian girls with girls of developed countries..as if u see, out of metro cities , in major part of india, girls are dont want to come out frm shell , they still not book thier tickets if they come to know that , next seat is alloted to male. while they travelling alone ...so ..my point is they have pick up from thier own mentality, same time condition are much more good comparing some islamic countries.

having moved to other countries also India is still not safe for girls and many still depend on their husbands/parents for a lot of things.
cause---corruption in the legal system

dear tania,
not only girls even our children are not safe from sexual abuse.
i think because our mindset is different. she always look for some support from her parents, brother or her spouse. why? if a girl thinks that she don't need anyone's help no matter what happens to her. and she will fight till her death without caring what people will think about her. once she will change her mindset i think no man can beat the power of a girl.

Street girls are not safe anywhere.Half naked girl 2-3 in the morning walking alone will bring problem or money.

our police being corrupt and biased, and no strict implementation of law and order.......gives people chance to take advantage of these factors and get away with crime or even pay their way out of it
And yes lot of people here dont like to admit...this reality that girls arent safe....but generalizing comment on a crime doesnt make it go away.
