The link below takes you to a page with a listing of at least 20 different softwares for you to try. Scroll down the page to where you see: Search Results for “Anti Virus Software”,read as much information on each software before you download, some of the software is free, some is trial, some is shareware. Try: http://www.tucows.com/search?search_terms=Anti+Virus+Software&search_scope=win&search_adv=0&search_size=&search_size_multi=b

Hi,
I don't have many options to answer your query, but then the one that i have is personally what i found good.
I am using a free edition of an antivirus viz. AVG Antivirus.
It comes both in free edition and professional edition. The difference being that free edition cant be used for commercial purposes and obviously professional edition provides more security.
Si if you want antivirus just for home use, you can try AVG free edition.
The link is http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
On the page that comes up you will find link for downloadin AVG Free edition. Just click on it and follow the instructions.
And once you start using it, make it a habit of udating it regularly.
Bye

I am a technology professional and have access to all kinds of high powered corporate security software. Most of it is just expensive crap so I personally use Free AVG by Grisoft:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
It works, it's not a system hog, and best of all, it's FREE! I have used it for years and have never had any virus or spyware attacks.
The best way to avoid security intrusions of any kind is to use Firefox or Netscape browsers and eMail instead of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Outlook. I used Netscape exclusively for years but have recently discovered Firefox and LOVE it. Both are much more functional than IE and much safer.
You can get Firefox here:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-us/firefox/
You can get Netscape here:
http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/
I hope this helps. Take care and best of luck!
