We have booked a flight with EasyJet (few months away still) - unfortunately we have spelt the name wrong (Sophie should be Sofia). EasyJet want another £17.50 per name change per flight - then something extra so it comes to £51 or something in total. Are they stict at the airport checking in. I know i've shortened my name from Alexander to Alex and they didn't quibble it?!?

They go by the name on the passport. You may just have to pay the extra money or there is a HUGE possibility when you get to the airport, that Sofia will not be allowed to board the plane.

I get the impression that EasyJet would bounce you at the first opportunity so they could sell your seat at a walk-on price. I may be wrong though.

its should be ok i think name change means if Say you booked for Smith and its being changed to Green ,
They only look at the passport briefly ,
Have you asked about the name being spelt wrong as its only first name i didn't think they'd charge you for that .
