It depends on the breed.
A Golden retriever is more likely to have 10-14 puppies then a Springer Spaniel.
I would take a wild guess and say 4-8 puppies normally.

Depends on the dogs and situations that can arise. If you're sending a letter to the state representative about puppy mills and you still need facts, its obvious you don't even know what you are doing. Do you even know what a puppy mill is? Everyone thinks that they know how many litters and how many puppies dogs are supposed to have. They don't. Do you notice that everyone has a different answer. Let nature do it's thing!

Depends on the breed, more or less. Certain canine varieties will have more than others, invariably. There is also the question of breeding - some dogs have been crossbred in such a manner as to make them less fertile, or infertile altogether.
In any event, I will say 5. Regardless of any Simpson's episode you may have seen recently, there should not be 99.

if you need facts check the humane society's website.
I believe that it is three, although sometimes you can get by this by waiting a long time between litters.
the breeder i used to work for bred each of her three females one year after another. (so violet would have litler of '97, lola would have littler of '98 etc) and stopped after three.

Different breeds each have a different average number of pups.
Best guess would be about 5 pups per litter and 5 litters.

Most reputable breeders only allow their dogs to breed once a year, sometimes every other year and 3 litters is usually all they will breed.

The size of liter depends on what kinds of breeds.
Look at this website, you can click on a breed and it will tell you the liter size of that breed.
