It would have had to have been the rooster and the hen.
Then they reproduced "after their own kind".

The bird. Because the bible says that God has wings: you can find this in Ruth, Psalms, Isaiah, Matthew, and Luke. Additionally, Matthew and Luke actually make a reference to the hen. Then there was Peter's rooster crowing...

The rooster and hen had to come first. Someone had to fertilize the egg. And someone had to lay it

It depends when the bird like reptile that chickens evolved from can be classified as being a chicken-when we establish that we can arrive at an answer.
