In December my 2 year old had an incident where he could not walk, his legs were very stiff and looked funny. He was crying and trying to walk, but could not move his legs, when he did move them, they buckled and he fell. We took him to the ped, but he thought it was an injury or transient synvotis. Eleven days later, he had another incident, same thing-stiff legs, not able to walk, crying in pain....Back to the ped, blood work-everthing looked normal. He did manipulate his legs a lot-we came home still hurting-and he developed a 103 fever-gave him Motrin-and he was GREAT. Woke up the next day wonderful, no problems. 3 weeks later-we had more problems-this time he was telling me his legs hurt-and moving them funny-he was walking like he had casts on-almost moving them in an arc. I noticed this again yesterday-I am wondering if he has been doing this all along-we just did not notice it. Please help-I am very worried-and have no idea what could possibly be wrong!!THANKS!!

See a different doctor. This could be muscular or envolve the nervous system. Besides the poor child is crying?
How can you sit and listen to that quack. find some one who knows what they are doing.
If my parents (story too long) had not, I would have died at 11 years old.
I am not saying your child will die, but this is not something to let go.
My daughter had menningitis as a newborn. Has your son been exposed to it?
menningitis effects all people different ways.
PLEASE<<<<< see another doctor and another and another if that is what it takes to help this poor baby.
I have 2 girls I would give my life for.
I am a mother. THIS IS NOT NORMAL...

My niece has just been in hospital for a similar problem, she apparently has a virus which attacked her nerves, her blood tests all came back negative, but she had a course of antibiotics and seems alot better, she is now having physiotherapy, I don't know if this is the same problem, but you should see another doctor, something is not right and you need to make a big fuss to get some attention, get someone to come along with you, good luck.

This could be muscle spasms or cramp try massageing some baby oil or a relaxing massage oil or lotioin into his legs and hips then jently move his legs for him 2 to 3 times a day thats what a physio therapist will tell you.
If your sons legs are still for too long they could sease up and you will have more problems. it will probaly be a bit pianfull for him at the start just give him some nurofen for children befor you start as it is a painkilling anit-inflamitary but it should help.

i'm not surprised you are worried... it really does sound 'not good'. you could try accident and emergency... they may be able to get you a faster referral the next time it happens esp. if it is happening mroe and more frequently.... also try a different ped. and also a GP.

if you keep hitting blocks, start creating a BIG scene until someone does something productive. get hysterical if necessary in the middle of a hospital.

You have to find a specialist now. Your doctor is blowing this off and it sounds very serious. I do not want to scare in any way.. trust me.. but this sounds like Spastic Cerebral Palsy. I would definately find another doctor as soon as possible and get a 2nd opinion. I am praying that it is something simple. Good luck with this.

Note: Doctors are not paid to be "laid back" we are there for help and need trust and responsiblity from a Doctor. Find a specialist 2 months is to long.

Definitley go to another doctor, or to A & E. It sounds like it should be sorted out by a professional.
Hope he's ok!
PS Doctors with kids of their own are usually best for treating children.

Poor thing. He must have gotten the disease Multiple sclerosis. That is when you are unable to walk and are handicap. My friend debo has a brother who is 2 and can also not walk but if your 2 yr old keeps trying to walk it may get better. But if it doesn't visit a doctor and do x rays. ok

Better have him check out by a muscle disorder and or neurological specialist. It could be the beginning of one of the muscular dystrophy diseases. Better safe than sorry.

Get a second opinion... and ask to see a pediatric specialist. This doesn't sound like something to be ignored.
