You know what I really hate, this ignorance in today's society. All these churches, even the ones that I have been a part of, act like no one had ever thought about sex until now. People have been having sex for thousands of years, and a bunch of it was before they were married. Sex isn't just something that everyone started thinking of the last few years. Though I do admit that the media has been sexed up, your parents thought about it just as much as you did.

When I was in 8th grade, everyone cheered of how they were going to stay virgins until they were married. Young kids still do, saying "But I'm different, I actually WILL," only to lose it years down the line, before they get married.

I'm not trying to say that you shouldn't, and you should take your pants off for the next guy you meet, but you should try to be a bit open minded about it. By the age 20, only a small minority of people are virgins, and by the mid 20s, the number for men is in the single digits.

It's not impossible, but unlikely. If you stay in a very conservative city or area, where men think have the same ideals you do, you might find a guy, but generally people will have sex before they marry. This also helps with sexual compatibility problems that some couples have experienced after not having sex until marriage (prime example being Jessica Simpson).

If you do carry your ideals to your future self, and still wish to be a virgin when you are in your late teens or early twenties, you will realize that it doesn't matter if your partner is a virgin or not. If you really fall in love, you won't care, and neither will he. I thought it was impossible to experience an acceptance from another partner like I have, and you won't understand it until you find it.

Kristin--thats all depends on where your looking for guys. If your looking in a club or bar the chance he is a virgin is slim to none..if your looking at a church and find a guy with your same values well it is likely he still is a virgin. Dont give up..Keep looking Mr right is out there for you..Virgin or Not

Amy is right - you are more likely to find someone within your church than in a club or a bar - the possibility of finding that guy will go up or down depending on where you are searching. To be quite honest, its possible, but not likely. Guys usually tend to lose their virginity earlier than girls. Still, that shouldn't be a factor in your decision. This is a personal choice that you make for yourself. If you want to save yourself for marriage, then that's great. Just don't rule out someone who may be a great guy because he happens to have some experience - everyone is entitled to their past. I don't think it is unfair because its your choice to save yourself and you shouldn't expect everyone to live their life just as you have chosen to live yours. On the flip side, your virginity is a precious gift, so don't feel like you should give up your goal of saving yourself just because you think you may not find another virgin to marry. Any guy who truly loves you will find that to be a wonderful and precious gift and will be willing to wait for you.

If he's a virgin when you marry, and so are you, how are you gonna know all the many things you can do. Get out and have some experiences before you marry - then you'll REALLY know how to keep your husband happy.

I totally agree that you need to test drive first. I mean everybody's different, so shouldn't you want to know what you like in ALL aspects (personality, looks, character, drive, ability in bed, etc). It's funny reading about girls wanting to wait until marriage, because very few actually follow through with that goal!
