I think this question is age dependent and the fact that everyone is different with different tastes...but, I'll give it a shot.

I can't speak for anyone else, but here are the qualities I look for:
A. Caring
B. Respect, even in little issues.
C. A willingness to LISTEN, not just hear. Not just give advice, but try to understand what I am saying.
D. Acceptance. I'm not perfect, I don't expect the man to be perfect. If he is willing to accept me with my imperfections, I will certainly accept him.
E. A willingness to admit when he is wrong. I do this in everyday life. I cannot abide a "know-it-all." This goes along with a willingness to change the negative in his life. I have worked hard at accepting the "dark" side in my own personality and expect the same in others.
F. Understanding that I have some sexual hang-ups.
G. A kind sense of humor. By this I mean, having fun in little things and not being cruel with humor.

I think women look for different things in a man depending on age. A young woman is looking for a husband/father type. An older woman is looking for compatibility, fun, sexual fullfillment, a man who they can truly enjoy sharing life with, without the thoughts of children etc. Oh, young women want the same in a husband including the children!
