History has always seem to be divided by nations or Religion. If we are multi racial why dont we become multi religious. If people don't agree then why don't they live in their racial or Religious country

Heck NO. If anything, get RID of faith! No matter how united under a common faith we try to be, factions will inevitably form and unrest will ensue. Faith is baseless, dogmatic certainly in the absence of and usually IN SPITE of rationality and evidence. We don't need that.

But surely we (UK) do live in a multi faith country?

Britain is secular (ie the state is separate from the church) and all religions co-exist (sort of).

This doesn't mean that people don't advertise (or proselytise) their beliefs and try to follow lifestyles (such as Halal/Halakha (or primarily kosher)) in accordance with those beliefs. And generally, such practices are tolerated. Certainly better than in many counties.

But a common faith? What about agnostics, atheists, pagans? How are you going to get everyone to agree on this commonality since this has been the subject of debate (and wars) since time immemorial. People can't even agree on how many gods there are or even whether there is one, let alone how to worship him/her/them/it.

What we really need is a combination of common sense and tolerance. Tolerance that says you should be free to follow your faith within the law. And common sense that says when you are told you can't wear a cross on a chain but that you can wear one as a lapel badge this isn't an issue to go to court about!

Peace.

I think that's naive. If it wasn;t religion, it would be something else. Religion is used to justify wars...and rally the troops....but it isn't the root cause of any conflict. It defines the sides. Even people of the same faiths believe different things. There would always be room for conflict.

I think part of what makes us unique as human beings is what we believe, and how we fit that into the parameters of our natures/personality.

Well, for one, we will never have a common faith, as people thrive on differences, however much they may be in essence the same.

I truly do appreciate your intent here, but, given five minutes with you, a Muslim or a Mormon would have you fighting, and the world is now too small to keep them away from you.

I think the solution is to have no faith at all, and you would likely fight me on that one.

Religions were supposed to moral paths to a final destination- God. But, then they seem to have turned against each other. That is why, i believe in religion only to a certain extent, but I ain't an atheist. I believe in God, not religion. People should have good motives, whatever religion. I guess... i hope. In future...

I think the song by John Lennon called "Imagine" sums it all up. Without religion and different countries everyone would be the same and there would be nothing to fall out over.

no we're not all the same I'm certainly not contemplating the idea that I'm anything like a child molester that's got something wrong with his head cause I'm certainly not anything like that its wrong and sick. most religions have some similarities for instance they all believe in a higher being than themselves, but if u think about it a lot of religions are cults.
