I have no idea what number you're referring to...could be a local ad vs. a national one. But, anyway, it's likely that it's a company that offers to "consolidate debts," etc. Meaning, you borrow money from one company and pay off all of your outstanding debts, including car loans, credit cards, etc. (not mortgages...) You now owe just the one company money, but it's still the sum total of all of your debts. Hopefully/presumably, it's at a more favorable interest rate, but you should be VERY CAREFUL before entering into any of these agreements. Be sure it isn't a scam, read the fine print, make sure this works to your advantage, that there aren't hidden costs or clauses that will make this an extremely bad move.
