I know the traditional is to use refried beans for the first layer, but I have always used bean dip (the canned stuff they sell newar the chips!). I buy a regular and a spicy, then mix the 2. It adds a nice zip to the dip and the bean dip is a little creamier than refried beans. Then top with layers as follows: Guacamole Sour cream chopped green onions chopped tomatoes shredded cheddar cheese shredded lettuce I have also poured salsa over the top. Stopped using black olives on it because I don't like the flavor after it sits for a while in the fridge.
