The guy I've been seeing for about 7 months was diagnosed with testicular cancer a few months back. He's older than me and I'm away at college. We live 2 hours apart. I wanted to be there for him everyday, but I knew realistically I couldn't be in person. We talked constantly and I sent my support as well as I could that way. I just found out, however, that his ex who lives where he does visited him alot during his treatment and that they have been spending alot of time together. He never told me this, I found out through a friend. Do you think because she was there for him during the treatment that he wants to get back with her, over possibly being with me since we aren't officially boyfriend and girlfriend yet. Please help! He's very important to me and I want him in my life, and to be in his.

She could be there to support him as a friend, or they could wind up back together.
You should really look at her as a support for him.
If it's meant for you to be together, it'll happen.

If you really loved this man you would have been there for him. The fact that you remained in college and lived two hours away really says quite a bit, especially to him. The message sent to him through this action was . . your life was more important than his. Cancer kills. You don't usually have too many second chances. His ex wife was there for him because she still cares. It is probably good that you found this out about your relationship now. You are not ready to committ to anyone.

When I fell in love with my husband there is absolutely nothing that would have stopped me from being with him.

It isn't the cancer that brings you closer . . its committment, loyalty, dedication, and love.

Yes, this is very possible that he could want her back. I'm glad that you're supporting him through this. My best advice to you is to have a heart to heart talk with him. That way you'll know for sure what his intentions are, and you're not left there hanging on, wondering what he's going to do. Then also, she may also be there just as a friend, supporting him as well. Talk to him, and go from there. Best of luck to you.
