So I have a DVD burner to burn dvd's from my video camera. I can watch them on my computer, but when I go to play them in an actual DVD player on TV, it doesn't work. It comes up with these folders that say like "highmat" "roots" and other stuff. Anyone know how to change settings on DVD burner? Or anything to help me.

It could be that the discs are data and not video, that would probably cause the dvd player to not read them, while a computer has no problem.

relies upon on what you attempt to burn. when you're burning your man or woman textile, then you fairly will have an issue with the recording speed or maybe the kind of DVD media. i really have had that problem. if you attempt to burn copyrighted textile, then you fairly favor to get some software that ought to decrypt the disk and positioned it right into a form that Nero can proper procedure. ** only a short be conscious to smartass. What you suggested isn't totally precise. I actually have a 1st era Toshiba DVD participant that i purchased even as dvd gamers got here out. it is going to play burned dvd's yet I had to replace the bios on the burner so as that it had the right booktyping even as it created the image. see you later as you booktype the disk as a DVD-ROM it truly is going to be playable in any dvd participant. I actually have not found a DVD participant my burned disk did not paintings in yet..

Did your camera come with software to copy and burn the movies on your computer ? if so install and use that.
Or try something like Roxio to create the movie and burn it into the correct format.

Also as noted by other answers not all players can handle recorded dvd's and this could be part of your problem.
if you have made other dvd on your computer and were abel to play them ok on the tv , then you have to look at how you transfer and create the movies from your camera

Trying using DVD-R media. Most of the new players will play both DVD-R and DVD+R. However if its a older player DVD-R should work.

Find the cheapest dvd player and it will probably play it. Look for one under 50.00 our cheap one plays burned dvd but then our dvd player over 100.00 does not play the burned dvd's.

Many players do not play DVD-RW, so you may need to get a new player.
