The average wieght for a 15 year old is supposed to be like 130 pounds but not all 15 year olds are 130 pounds even the ones who are skinny arent they are still overwieght so i think that there are more people overwieght because the wieght is too low. who agrees with me?

No, it depends on the person. For some people with larger frames or more muscle mass, the average weight for their height will seem too low, but for people with smaller frames and not much muscle mass, the average weight for their height may seem quite high.

You shouldn't worry about weight and focus on body fat percentage instead. At 15, if you have between 18% and 26% body fat, you don't need to worry.

HTH : )

Depends on height and activity level.
Muscle weighs more for its size.
An athletic person who is 5 ft 9 inches can weigh 160 lbs and appear 'thin' and a person of the same height and weight who is a couch potato will appear 'fluffier'.

130 pounds isn't bad for a girl who is 5 foot 6 inches. Someone who is 5 ft even would be 30lbs overweight if they aren't too active.
That's what I feel.
North America is overweight... just stating the obvious.

I think thats a little high, the USA is really obese so thats probably average, most of the ppl i know are less than 130 except for my really tall friends and like moms and stuff.

I feel just the opposite, that our 'average' weights have increased. Look back at a weight chart from 30 years ago and you will see what I mean. Just becuase our society is getting heavier does not mean this is normal or healthy. Charts also start adding weight as we get older and that shouldn't be considered normal either.

I absolutely agree. The weight scale is based on age and height, but because every person has a different frame it doesn't apply to everyone. I think nowadays "average" is damn near anorexic!

Really? I think that the average weight is just right. Americans are just getting to fat.
