I feel cloudy-minded and dizzy a lot since I've had mine. Is there something to this idea of bacteria colonizing in the dead teeth that causes systemic illnesses- brain, heart, lungs, circulation, etc.? If you have had problems with root canals, please tell me! Any advice???

I have had three root canals and crowns and currently working on my fourth one (a wisdom tooth chipped)...one of the crowns is now about 13 years old with no problems AFTER having it done. I am very happy with mine.

You could have your dentist re-check them to make sure they are ok. Cloudy-minded and dizzy could be a lot of things from diabetes to lung problems to ear infections (the dizzy part) to blood pressure or heart problems to medication side effects to lots of other stuff...

There have been no scientific studies showing bacteria oozing from "dead teeth". Root canals are performed on a daily basis and have for been for decades. The remaining tooth structure is sealed at the apex (end of the tooth) and this remaining tooth structure never had a blood supply anyway. Think of it like a fingernail, your body makes it. Your cloudy mindedness and dizziness are not connected to root canals.

Please note that the above referenced article is absolute nonsense. Modern dental curriculum covers every system of the human body. Before you even learn dental information you fully dissect a human cadaver . Dental school is almost identical to the first two years of medical school. Whoever wrote this article has never stepped a foot into a dental school, medical school, or even a dental office.

It is possible that bacteria can cause toxins to back up into the blood stream, causing all kinds of problems. I would seek medical treatment and be sure to tell the doctor about your concern over root canals.
