ok my " best friend" always acts different around guys and if my guy friends joke around and say some thing about me she says it too just to fit in and she will make fun of me and she will tell me to shut up and she is a realpain to b around when guys are around shes not her self , but when we are with girls she is soo nice to me ..every one sees that she acts diff and i tell her and she doesnt believe me so what should i do??????????

avoid her when theres guys around, just dont be around to take the abuse, some people are just prone to act like that around people they want to impress, shes being a little social climber. she'd probably stab you in the back just to get a guy. she either realizes what shes doing, or you can just walk away when you know shes going to put guys between your friendship.

She's not your best friend. Best friends stick up for one another and are the same person no matter the situation. She acts like that around guys because she wants them to think she's cool and if she jokes with them about you consistently, it means she values what they think of her more than what you think of her. She doesn't sound like a good friend at all. By putting you down just to make herself look better, that's a sure sign of insecurity. Tell her to re-evalutate her priorities, or find a new friend.

Yea I have had friends like that. Maybe you shouldnt hang out with her when there are guys around. Maybe she will get the point then. Maybe you can ask some of your other friends that see it to let her know what they see to. Maybe when she is acting like that you can call her on it right in front of the guys so she can get embarrassed. I think she does that because it makes her feel like she is better then you in front of them. Im sure all the attention has to be on her. You dont need her as a friend she sounds fake.

Most answers touch base for the fact that this doesn't sound like a "best friend" honey. Best friends defend you when people start attacking you when you are there or not, best friends defend you.
People who tell others (never mind a supposed best friend) to shut up are rude people. I would slowly disassociate myself from her. You know you and your boyfriend can start hanging out somewhere else, and don't invite her to their parties anymore stuff like that, you can still be nice to her in school and
stuff but the girl just isn't social.... good luck honey

ah ha one of my friends had this. its basically like they have two whole personalities. well, what i did was talk to my friend and tell her that shes treating me like crap around our guy friends. If that doesnt work for u, snap. I had to do that with a different friend and once i snapped at them for being a real jerk, they did more to make a difference.

Tell her to go get her own friends, or atleast not to make fun of you. You can make jokes about her, real bad ones if that is how she wants to play!

She thinks she's being cool around those guys but she's not. Just tell her she needs to stpo making fun of u when those guys are around.

Oh, and drop her as a friend, she's no friend if she's willing to throw you under the bus to feel better about herself.
