I take sewing classes once a week and our instructor assigned each sewing student to a group of three and that group has to share one sewing machine. One of the lady's in my group comes across as very rude. Whenever the teacher gives instructions to do something, the lady never does it herself but she tells me to do it and she tells me to hurry up, like she's demanding it or something, and she talks during class and doesn't let me listen. I know she means well because she tries to be nice and have a friendly conversation with me but I just find her to be rude. I'm guessing maybe she's just not good with social interaction. How do I deal with her?

There is always a Bossy Boots pushing people around....my advice: Arrive to class early , and tell your teacher that is a must for you to switch to a different group because this woman's behavior is is harassing to you.(hey you are paying for your class, right?) Not only that, ask her to please stop the woman when she interrupts, maybe she can say..."please hold the comments or questions until I'm finished".
Maybe if you explain to your teacher that is extremely hard to understand her instructions because this woman is so distracting ,she will do something about it.
If you teacher does not take action ask the other girl in your group to complain too.....As a last resource, if she has a supervisor complain to her/him

About the talking during class: tell her to shut up 'cause you want to pay attention.
About letting you do the work: good for you! More practice than when you're just looking on while she's doing her share! If there were enough sewing machines, wouldn't it be even nicer if everyone had their own so you could do all of it, you're there to learn & practice using it... Just ignore her demanding comments and enjoy the extra practice :)

Tell her that you really have to hear what the teache is saying and you promise to answer her questions after the teacher is done. If she is been rude, go and tell the teacher and ask her if she could say it in a general way to the whole class and then nobody will be centred out. Take care Heather

I don't know why you are letting someone walk all over you like this. I would move away from her while the instructor is talking, going to the other side of the room if I had to. And if she or the instructor asked me why, I would tell them.
Then during the project segment, I'd telll her she was there to do it herself, and if she didn't want to, she shouldn't be in the class. And I wouldn't be worried at all what she thought of it, either.

I certainly wouldn't do her work for her! Tell her she won't learn if she doesn't do it herself. And if she talks when the teacher is talking, I'd tell her you want to listen. That you'll talk to her when the teacher is finished. Sounds to me like this woman is just there to have some companionship and isn't really interested in learning to sew!

If she doesn't quit her behavior, talk to the teacher.

If she tells you to hurry up then stop, get up out of the chair and invite her to do it. Tell her that she is obviously much better with it and can do it faster, so why should you waste your time?

And just ask the teacher to reassign groups. Or ask her to watch that poo head

Next time she tells you to hurry up, go as SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWW as possible to annoy her. Forcing her to take the project and do it herself.
And when she talks in class just politely tell her that you cant hear the teacher if she continues to talk over her.

If she kept telling me to hurry up I'd probably tell her to bite me. What a clod.
