Approximately how much time will it take to get a 2inch x 2 inch sized tattoo on my ankle and any ideas how much this could cost? And another question, how much will it hurt and what can I expect it to feel like? Thanks for any help!

Entire time from start to finish-- about 2 hours. The actual tattooing should take about an hour, depending on the amount of detail you have. The cost can range anywhere from $60-$200, again depending on the level of detail, the amount of color, any shading and where the shop is located. (Its cheaper in Reno than SoCal, but I love my artist in SoCal. I would rather pay the extra money since its permanent and I totally trust her.)
It hurts most over the bone and the Achilles Tendon. If you have ever had road rash or scraped yourself really bad on pavement, that's kinda what it feels like. Over the bone, its much more of a strong pinch/poke. Take some deep breaths and put your mind someplace else.

Best of luck to you!

A tattoo that size would take anywhere between 10-30mins..depending on how much detail is involved in the design and how fast the artist is. As for the cost of the tattoo, that varies from shop to shop but don't decide your artist on price but instead by quality.

As for pain, it all depends on the person. I've had some customers that couldn't bear the pain and others fall asleep while I work. I've had some people compare it to a sunburn feeling and others say it's more like a scratching type of feeling. I personally find it to be an intriguing, unique type of pain. Some spots are more sensitive to tattoo then others. Any spot on the body where there is less muscle or fat in between the skin and bone you will feel it a bit more but not by much. So the ankle is a bit more of a sensitive spot but it looks so good at the end.

I hope this helps.

It is really difficult to say. A lot of parlors have a starting point. For instance, at mine, no tattoo would be less than 50$.

That is how much I paid for 2 characters on my wrist.

To get a butterfly on my foot it was 80$ (he charges 50$ to start and then 50$ an hour).

My most expensive was my ankle. I paid 130$ I believe. It is an anklet with a lot of detail and color.
I would look around and see how each parlor charges.

most tattoo shops have a minimum starting price, which is sometimes somewhere around $50-$60.
but it would be hard to say, not knowing what tattoo you want.
color and detail would also play a part in determining the price.
