Jake, you need to go to a recruiters office and find out.. but go to this website and read the articals about all the branches first.. Think about the MOS you might want to do while in there and then find the branch who offers the best job for your choice..

That way, you can make an informed decision, while staying true to yourself.. And remember one thing about the military, your the best person to be agressive about what you want and then will have to be that agressive to get it..

Good luck.. And no, I am not a military person, but a military Mother of two children..

Art Mom-Air Force recruiters are VERY notoriously lazy. It is the same all across the country and I guess its because they get recruits a lot easier. The Army recruiters will jump at the opportunity for a new recruit since the Army needs more people.

For the physical requirements-http://usmilitary.about.com/od/army/l/blfitmale17to21.htm

They might be easier for just getting into basic training but you should still want to exceed those numbers before basic.

Everything is the same as joining the active military, pass the ASVAB and MEPS, graduate basic training and AIT and then you are assigned to a National Guard Unit. Call a recruiter and talk to them. Be sure to talk to some Vet's too.

If you are like my son, who is interested in the Air Force- its been numerous phone calls and no return call and no open offices-thats our tax money at work (two weeks have passed) but! look up C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Desktop\USMilitary_com - USMilitary_com Home.htm- usmilitary.com and shift thru to maybe some of your questions- its supposed to be an overall site.
The National Guard should be the same as the Army-
With respect to you- a "Mom"
